what are all your opininions on this..
my opinion is western stlye burkas etc are more fashionable and up to date but still do the same job as the ones from the olden times and the middle east need to catch up and some people in the uk

you know the design some are just plain black and 'british white' people complain its this, that etc so thats why i came here to get your opinions on it

your abaya is to protect your modesty not to attract unwanted attention.. plain black is just fine imo.

imo, after visiting many countries, the black abaya and niqab/jilbab and all that is all a cultural thing. in the west, colourful hijabs etc and fashionable but modest clothes are great - because as far as ive been taught it does not say in the Qur'an that you have to wear black. And also, Allah (swt) encourages beaurty so....

Colouring pen + paper (or pc), there you go mate, attempt to make some designs. And explain it that way.

There are loads of coloured abayas? The reason why most are black is because it doesn't look odd, you can match it with anything, and you can have any design.

In terms of coloured hijab - if you think most are black then I don't really know what to say.
